Model shows

We have now confirmed some of the many shows we will be attending in 2012, check out our "Model Shows" page to see where we will be going. Please note that the shows listed are not all that we will be representing ourselves at, these are just the confirmed ones as of the current date. If there are shows you would like us to attend which are not currently on the page please contact us! 


Abingdon and Belgium Shows

The team will be attending two shows on the weekend of the 01/10/11, one of which is in abingdon and the other in Belgium. If you wish to pre-order anything from us you can do on 01235 861614 and we will be happy to bring it along with us to either show so you do not have to pay out for postage. Alternatively if you would just like more information on this weekends shows you can call the office between 9-5 monday to friday. 

We're Back!

After a turbulent move, we are finally back up and running and able to accept credit card orders via our web site once again along with our standard PayPal option. The phone lines are also back on with 01235 861614 reinstated as the sales and information line that you can call from 9-5 Monday to Friday with any queries. Over the next month we will be updating the website and orders will continue to fly out the door to the standard you had come to expect from the Aviation Workshop before this move fiasco. Please do not be disgruntled by what has happened, if you have any issues regarding orders placed please call us or emailsales@theaviationworkshop.co.uk out lining your concerns. We endeavour to dispatch orders within 24 hours of receipt and most cases the vey same day. We would like to remind you that we operate a shop at our premises and will be happy (if you have a particular item you wish to purchase) to see you during the week between 9.30 and 4.30pm Monday to Friday the will also plan to re-open our Saturday shop this Autumn where you will find the new premises being more suited to your needs. We will be adding items to our stock over the next year so please keep checking the website for updates. Thank you all for patience and patronage. You are ALL very valued customers and your continuing support truly keeps us going!

Moving Office.

We are moving offices over the next week, starting Thursday 1st September through to Wednesday 7th September so please bear with us during this time as there will be both telphone and broadband interuption during the move which cannot be avoided.

On Monday 5th September the office will be closed all day as this is our server move but we hope to be back up and running by Tuesday morning and orders will be posted from then. We are sorry for any inconveniance this will cause during this time.

Information Wanted.

We are looking for information on the coalition aircraft used in Afghanistan for the second part of our War on Terror sheets. Aircraft we would like to cover are as follows:

Broadband Issues.

We are now re connected to our braodband and the web site catalogue is working again. Hopefully all the back orders have now been completed but if you have not received your order please contact the sales team and they will sort this out for you.

We are still experiencing some email problems but these should be fixed by BT within the next couple of days.

Order Problems.

Please note we are having problems this week with our BT Broadband and we are sorry for any inconvenience this has caused but it is beyond our control and BT have promised we will be active again by Thursday 21st April.

Guest Ranges.

We have now made our entire stock of Pavla and Odds and Ordnance resins available to order on our website. Please note that these items will not be restocked once sold out.


Christmas Closures

We will be shut from the 23rd of December to the 4th of January for christmas.

Please remember when we re-open after the holidays the new VAT prices will be in affect.

2nd Annual Open Day

We are holding our 2nd Annual Open Day on Saturday 11th December 2010 between 10.30am and 4.00pm at our Watermill Studio, Ardington.

Guests Abingdon IPMS Model Club with a display. Recently released kits will be on sale including Airfix 1/48th Scale Sea Vixen. Also available will be the new Model Alliance MA-204 2TAF Decals sheet and further stock of the new Royal Navy Deck Tractors in both scales.

Advanced orders taken. Please ring our sales department if you require a reserved order. (Payment made at time)

The Team will be available to answer any questions and there is a demonstration of decal artwork design by our in-house illustrator and Aviation Profile artwork.

Welcome

We are pleased to welcome Trevor Snowden to The Aviation Workshop. Trevor retired from Airfix/Hornby at the end of September and has joined TAW Team as a consultant working on some exciting new products and ideas including a new range due during 2011.

Trevor will be at our stand at Scale Model World, Telford in November. Drop by and say hello!

Office Closed
Due to essential maintenance on our Server and IT system the office will be closed all day on Friday 10th and Monday 13th September for mail order. Our Design Studio is still open and can take messages.

Congratulations
All the staff would like to congratulate Andy and Sally Donovan on their marriage. Andy has been involved with TAW for over 10 years and has become a familiar face at many of the shows and is one of our authors and artist.
He married Sally on the Saturday 7th August and we all wish them the best and to have a long and happy life together.

Master Pattern Makers Wanted with Passion For French Subjects
We are looking to expand our resin ranges for both the accessories and conversion sets.
This will include 'Under wing' bits, new improvement sets, conversion sets for Mirage F.1 (Hasegawa kit in 1/72 Scale) etc. and many other items. Revised Opening Times

Due to the continued expansion of the business and the development of some of the new ranges and publications which has resulted in a need for additional space in the unit we will not be opening the unit as a retail outlet on Saturday's from the 1st May. Please note that the unit is open as normal Monday to Friday.

We will be hold 2 or 3 Special Open days a year which will be advertised on our web site. However, our secure shopping cart is now fully operational and all our products plus accessories can be ordered direct.

If you would like to visit the unit on a Saturday, please ring beforehand as there will often be someone working in the Design Studio.

Sniper Target Designating Pod resins will soon be available to order in 1:32 and 1:48 scale, please keep an eye on this website for details. In the meantime you can order Sniper Pods in 1:72 here.

The Aviation Workshop is pleased to announce that we now have a secure online shopping facility available for you to place orders through our website! This facility includes a PayPal function as well as our own shopping cart facility.


SSL Certs

We have become aware of some errors occurring in the PayPal module of our cart preventing customers' orders from getting through. We are trying to resolve the issue as soon as possible but if you experience any difficulties please contact the sales team.

Our own secure shopping cart is functioning as normal.

RETAIL SHOP NOW OPEN 6 DAYS A WEEK

We have now extended our retail shop opening hours to 10.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Saturday.
The shop allows you to see all our products. Books, decals and resin sets.
We also stock kits of subjects for use with our decal range produced by major manufacturers. You will also find a range of Microscale decaling products, Tamiya masking tape and other sundries the modellers always needs to complete the job.

NEW HAWK SCHEME

WINTER WEATHER

We are sorry that your orders have taken slightly longer than normal. This is due to the severe winter weather we have experienced over the week as postal collections have not yet resumed. Where we can, we have posted small packages.

NEW DESIGN STAFF

We are please to announce that Mark Rolfe has joined the team as our 2nd in-house artist. Mark has worked for many years as a freelance artist, often for TAW and has produced a number of books already for us. He can often been seen at the many model shows we attend every year.

NEW SALES STAFF

We have recently re structured our sales and mail order department and as such we are now able to take orders Monday through to Saturday from 9.30am to 5.00pm.

Andrew Warne and Will Madgwick now work in the Sales, Logistics and Dispatch Department supported by Steve Webster as the Stock Controller. Kevin Nunn had taken over as the Manager of this department.

This is partially due to our new on-line ordering facility which is now almost ready for use. The web site will have a secure ordering facility for all credit and debit cards.

NEW DECAL ARTIST

We are pleased to welcome Peter Scott as our new In-house artist. Peter has been working with The Aviation Workshop as a freelance artist for a few years and has now joined us full time to meet the huge demand for our products and to help develop the new lines which will include a range of kits. Peter is working on many exciting projects including a Battle of Britain book to celebrate the 70th Anniversary next year, some of the new products he is currently completing will be available at the Nationals.
